The first public release

After development, testing, App Store review and a few rounds of fixes, SymptomTap is now available on the App Store. Reaching this point took more small decisions than the finished app shows, but that was part of the goal: keep the product focused and make the most common action feel simple.

This is the first public release. I am glad that people can finally use the same idea that guided the project from the start, and I am looking forward to learning which parts prove most useful in everyday use.

Logging should take seconds

I built SymptomTap around one simple idea: logging a symptom should take seconds, not become another task. When something happens, the app should help you make a useful record without asking for a long session or a complicated setup first.

That principle shaped the quick actions, the distinction between an instant log and a timed episode, and the option to add an entry later. It also shaped what I left out. A focused tool should make its main job clear rather than compete for attention.

Designed for iPhone and Apple Watch

SymptomTap is designed for iPhone and Apple Watch, with quick logging, timed episodes, backdated entries, and customizable symptoms and triggers. The iPhone provides room for details and setup, while Apple Watch keeps the most immediate actions close at hand.

SymptomTap records observations. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis or treatment advice. The product page and Privacy Policy explain the app in more detail, and Support is the right place to report a problem or share feedback.

What comes next

A first release is a real milestone, but it is also a starting point. I will keep improving SymptomTap based on real use and feedback, with the same preference for clear interactions and useful details over unnecessary complexity.

If you try the app, I would be grateful to hear what works well and where something gets in the way. Small, specific observations are often what turn into the most useful improvements.
